Uni-Diversity

Uni-Diversity was founded in 2020 by Laurie Mitchell. Laurie is a Special Care Counsellor and Developmental Services Worker with over 25 years of experience in the field.

Using a holistic professional approach including knowledge from her personal involvement as a mother to neurodiverse children and caregiver to her father who has Alzheimer’s, equips Laurie to provide support, consultation and education around meeting the diverse needs of those who require assistance as well as those in the role of parenting, educating, or caring for someone else. Many existing services do not necessarily consider the basic humanity and natural neurodiversity of people, which is fundamental for identifying and meeting needs. Uni-Diversity’s services are designed to help untangle unique and/or complex situations by finding the root of any issue or need, and then addressing it through coaching and consultations that will help produce action for real change. Laurie’s approach is intended to be different; offering services that consider the person providing a support or service as much as the person receiving it, and aim to be an effective and change-inducing process that builds understanding as well as skills, for both the supporter(s) and the individual(s) requiring support.

Strategic Learning Clinic

The Strategic Learning Clinic focuses on equipping children with the tools and skills they need to become successful, motivated, and happier students. The Clinic addresses the root causes of a student’s learning difficulties, providing them with the skills they will need in the future.
