Action dignité de Saint-Léonard est un organisme communautaire qui défend les droits des locataires et contribue au développement du logement social à Saint-Léonard et à la lutte à la pauvreté.

Tâches et responsabilités
Organiser et animer les activités d’éducation populaire en lien avec le projet
Mobiliser les locataires du secteur de la rue Jean-Talon, Est
Soutenir les locataires qui rencontrent des difficultés dans leur logement
Représenter l’organisme pour le Droit au logement et le développement de logements sociaux dans les différentes instances locales et autres
Remplir les informations dans la base de données informatiques

Exigences et compétences recherchées
Connaissance des enjeux du logement privé et social
Expérience en animation de groupe et en mobilisation
Habileté à travailler en concertation
Sens de l’organisation, de l’initiative et de l’autonomie
Compétence pour travailler en milieu interculturel
Bonne connaissance en informatique
Bonne connaissance du français oral et écrit
Connaissance de l’espagnol ou de l’anglais (un atout)

Conditions de travail
Contrat d’un an avec possibilité de renouvellement
32 heures par semaine, (lundi au jeudi, travail de soir, fin de semaine, occasionnel)
Salaire: 32$ de l’heure, politique de vacances généreuse et avantages sociaux

Community Mental Health Counsellor

A community-based, not-for-profit organization, AMI-Quebec is committed to helping families manage the effects of mental health challenges and illnesses through support, education, guidance and advocacy. We are looking for an experienced counsellor to join our team and help us ensure continued support for families. Please note that this counsellor will work with the family/friends supporting a person with mental health challenges/illnesses, rather than with those individuals themselves. Click here to read about our SOS Famille program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling
  • Proven experience working with families
  • Knowledge of mental illness
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to empathize with clients
  • Bilingual (English, French)
  • Interest in working in a community nonprofit organization

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Evaluate clients’ needs and create an intervention plan
  • Help individuals with the resources needed to reach personal goals
  • Monitor client progress and adjust intervention plan as needed
  • Take part in other relevant tasks necessary for the functioning of the organization

Supervision (individually and in group) is provided.

We are located in Montreal. Some remote work may be possible.

Compensation: Salaried position: Remuneration and benefits are based on the organization’s salary scale (salary is based on a full time starting salary of $53,000 annually).

About the Don Bosco Youth Leadership Centre

The Don Bosco Youth Leadership Centre (DBYLC or YLC) was founded in 1997. It is a non-profit youth community centre that reaches out annually to over 1000 children, youth, and families in the East end of Montreal. Named after Saint John Bosco, a universally recognized educator and evangelizer of the young, the DBYLC strives to follow in his footsteps.

The mission of the DBYLC is to foster the development of good and kind young people and positive leaders. This mission is carried out through a variety of youth activities and events that have as their finality education, prevention, and leadership training. Don Bosco used to say: “Give the most to those who have the least.” The DBYLC is particularly attentive to needier youth: those from poorer families, in dysfunctional family settings, or influenced by negative and harmful peer influences.’’

About the Role 

No experience is necessary but an open mind and open heart, and a commitment to our youth approach is a must. The training meetings are mandatory and only certain exemptions will be allowed on a case to case basis. Apply to as many positions as you like.
 
For those applying to work at Happy Days (grade 1 to grade 6) and Teen Spirit (sec 1+2+3), you will need to work the 6 full weeks of camp, from Monday, June 30th to Friday, August 8th, plus a training week from Monday June 23rd to Friday June 27th.
