1. Reisa Annual General Meeting

REISA’s Annual General Meeting was held on June 28th, 2017, at the Centre Leonardo Da Vinci. Ms. Fatiha Gatre Guemiri, Executive Director of REISA, presented REISA’s annual report which included details of REISA’s activities over the past year. Click the link below to check out our annual report!

2. REISA's Community Network Forum Report


This year’s forum entitled The Network Model: Influencing Public Policy for Social Change, was held on February 23rd, 2017.  The forum explored strategic challenges for organizations working to gain a foothold in policy process and measuring and communicating success to local community constituencies. 3. Tamarack Conference: Neighborhoods The Heart of Community: Mobilizing for Impact

On June 6, 7, and 8, the Tamarack Institute hosted a 3 day conference which addressed embracing community change at a neighborhood level. The bilingual conference brought together community workers from all over the country and United States to learn, develop, and discuss innovative community building approaches. Key note speakers included Nathalie Fortin, Chair of the Montréal Neighbourhood Tables, Michael McAffee, Co-Director of the Promise Neighborhoods Institute (PNI) and Vice-President for Programs at PolicyLink, and John McKnight, co-founder of Asset-Based Community Development Institute. 4. Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) Annual General Meeting

On June 15 and 16 REISA’s Executive Director attended QCGN’s 22nd Annual General Meeting where they presented their Annual Report and provided attendees with many insights and resources to community work. One significant find for the REISA team was canva.com. Canva is a free website that allows you to build various types of promotional material, produce newsletters, design presentations, and more. QCGN hosted a speed dating event on June 15th; more than 70 members were in attendance and links were successfully created between community participants.

5. Red Feather Forum

REISA has been featured in the March and June editions of the Red Feather Forum! The Red Feather Forum releases a quarterly newsletter highlighting health and social service's most recent developments in the greater Montreal region. In their two latest editions, the Red Feather Forum features REISA's work with both the special needs community and the senior citizen communities of Montreal's East-end. 6. AMI-Quebec 40th Anniversary Gala

REISA partner AMI-Quebec will be celebrating their 40th Anniversary by hosting a gala on October 12th with food, music, a silent auction, and a raffle. For details call 514-486-1448. Be sure to check it out!
