PERT is a nonprofit organization that seeks to address the employability issues faced by English-speaking Quebecers. Since our founding in 2020, we have developed a research and engagement agenda in collaboration with stakeholders across Québec who are working to improve the labour market outcomes of English speakers.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Operations Manager (1-year contract, full-time) will be responsible for supporting operations at PERT. Your responsibilities will encompass financial oversight, human resource coordination, and administrative support, as well as comprehensive project management to ensure program objectives and deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
This is a hybrid position, which will require working in person at PERT’s Montreal office, as well as the possibility of working from home. The hybrid schedule will be determined based on the employer and employee’s needs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee PERT’s administrative functions, including accounting, financial reporting, and general office coordination.
- Coordinate PERT’s HR, including supporting existing staff (benefits admistration, guidance, training, and performance management) and strengthening our talent pipeline (recruitment & onboarding).
- Support the payroll function ensuring payroll (and other benefits) is prepared and distributed accurately and on time.
- Drive the success of PERT’s projects through effective project management, resource planning, progress tracking, and clear reporting to stakeholders.
- Support the organization of meetings and events, including PERT’s sectoral tables, special events, and the annual general meeting.
- Act as a liaison for all purchases, office supplies, subscriptions, account management, technology and IT related matters.
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and non-profit funding requirements.
- Support the Executive Director in identifying funding opportunities, drafting grant proposals, preparing reports, and contributing to the strategic work of PERT.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities, with a track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
- Knowledge and experience in Finance, Accounting, or HR.
- Skills in event planning.
- Expertise in project management.
- A post-secondary education in a related field (Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Finance or Accounting, Project Management, Social Sciences (e.g., Sociology, Political Science, Community Development), Public Policy, Organizational Development, Economics & Social Work).
Nice to have:
- Strong bilingual communication skills (French and English) to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Previous experience in the non-profit sector.
- An understanding of employability challenges in Quebec, particularly those affecting the English-speaking community.

Job Specifications
- Full-time contract position
- 1-year contract, with potential of renewal
- Salary: $50,000 – $70,000, commensurate with experience and skills
- 9 paid sick days
- 15 days of paid vacation in addition to office closure between Christmas and New Year’s
