Job Title: Pre-Vocational Educator (Full-Time) – Neurodivergent Adults

Location: 9825 rue Verville, Montréal, Québec, H3L 3E1
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (plus paid staff meetings THURSDAYS 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM)

About the Role:

Are you passionate about inclusive education, mental health, and supporting employment access for neurodivergent adults? We’re looking for a Pre-Vocational Educator to join our team!

This role involves supporting young adults (21+) with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and mental health challenges in building the skills, confidence, and experiences needed for future employment. You’ll teach pre-vocational skills, facilitate on-site job placements, and help clients navigate the world of work through a strengths-based, inclusive lens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support employment-related skills tailored to each client’s interests, strengths, and needs.
  • Accompany and assist clients at internship or job sites as needed.
  • Promote and model self-advocacy, including communication around workplace accommodations.
  • Create engaging pre-vocational curriculum focused on both adapting to work environments and advocating for inclusive adaptations.
  • Offer clients meaningful opportunities for skill-building, recreation, emotional regulation, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with employers and organizations to promote workplace inclusion and mental health awareness.
  • Foster independence, confidence, and well-being in a supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual, physical, or developmental disabilities.
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health challenges (e.g. anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build respectful, supportive relationships.
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written); French is an asset.
  • Comfortable accompanying clients to workplaces off-site.
  • Creative, adaptable, and committed to equity and inclusion.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
