Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (plus paid staff meetings Thursdays 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team in an alternative education setting that serves neurodivergent adults (21+ years). The PSW will play a key role in supporting participants in their daily routines, promoting independence, fostering social-emotional well-being, and ensuring a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and group support to neurodivergent adults during program hours.
Support participants with personal care needs, including assistance with toileting, hygiene, and other daily living activities, while maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect at all times.
Support participants in developing life skills, social skills, and emotional regulation strategies.
Collaborate with educators and program facilitators to implement individualized plans and accommodations.
Promote inclusion, dignity, and autonomy in all interactions and activities.
Respond to behavioral, emotional, or sensory needs using a neuro-affirming
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of experience working with neurodivergent individuals (e.g., autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, etc.).
Speaks English and French
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and non-judgmental communication skills.
Ability to remain calm, flexible, and supportive in a dynamic learning environment.
First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
A valid police record check with vulnerable sector screening is required.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
