Archives and Events Assistant
Archives and Events Assistant (9 weeks)
30 hours per week at $20/h
Help preserve ACCM’s rich community history! As our Archives and Events Assistant, you’ll organize our historical documents while learning about Montreal’s HIV/AIDS activism and 2SLGBTQ+ history to culminate in an AIDS in Montreal archive exhibit in partnership with Fierté Montreal.
Job duties:
- Develop and implement organization systems for ACCM’s historical archives
- Catalog and digitize important community materials and oral histories
- Create accessible physical and digital filing systems
- Document archival procedures and create user-friendly guides
- Collaborate with the Pride committee on exhibition development
- Support the planning and installation of the Fierté Montreal archive exhibit
Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about 2SLGBTQ+ community history and preservation
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Comfortable with digital tools and handling physical documents
- Demonstrates sensitivity when working with community members and materials
- Between 15-30 years old (Canada Summer Jobs requirement)
- Bilingual French/English an asset
