Archives and Events Assistant

Archives and Events Assistant (9 weeks)

30 hours per week at $20/h

Help preserve ACCM’s rich community history! As our Archives and Events Assistant, you’ll organize our historical documents while learning about Montreal’s HIV/AIDS activism and 2SLGBTQ+ history to culminate in an AIDS in Montreal archive exhibit in partnership with Fierté Montreal.

Job duties:

  • Develop and implement organization systems for ACCM’s historical archives
  • Catalog and digitize important community materials and oral histories
  • Create accessible physical and digital filing systems
  • Document archival procedures and create user-friendly guides
  • Collaborate with the Pride committee on exhibition development
  • Support the planning and installation of the Fierté Montreal archive exhibit

Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate about 2SLGBTQ+ community history and preservation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Comfortable with digital tools and handling physical documents
  • Demonstrates sensitivity when working with community members and materials
  • Between 15-30 years old (Canada Summer Jobs requirement)
  • Bilingual French/English an asset
